The Princess of Wales has shared her third short film celebrating the beauty of Mother Nature, showing her baking bread and spending time with children in a touching tribute to autumn.
Unlike the previous video, Princess Kate appears on screen in this new clip, released on the Waleses’ official Instagram account.
In a tribute to the natural world and the cooler season, the Duchess of Cambridge described autumn as a time of “reflection, growth and deeper connection.”
The warm and gentle video shows the royal walking through woodland, taking in the changing colours of the leaves during what she calls the months of “refinement.”
Voiced by Kate in October, the Princess is seen trying her hand at outdoor cooking alongside chef Gill Meller and children from Farley Junior Academy in Luton.
As she speaks about the trees “shed[ding] their canopies in preparation for winter,” the group is shown gathered around a bonfire in Windsor Great Park, sharing food and stories.
The children are supported by the charity Go Beyond, which provides access to nature and residential breaks for young people across the UK who are facing challenging circumstances.
Reflecting on the recent months of “refinement,” she said, “We too learn to let go of what is no longer needed.”
Filming for the video also took place in Northern Ireland, which the Princess visited with the Prince of Wales in October, including stops at Long Meadow Cider in Co Armagh and Mallon Farm in Co Tyrone.
Accompanied by soft, calming music and the sound of birdsong, the Princess of Wales reflects on how “clarity” can emerge in the later months of the year.
As she speaks about gaining “greater awareness of our inner and outer worlds,” the video shows sweeping views of rolling mountains and peaceful countryside.
“Through greater awareness of our inner and outer worlds, we can find clarity and purpose in what matters most. Encouraging us to simply pay attention and listen,” she said.
“With the turning of the seasons, Mother Nature teaches us there is beauty to be found in change, in permanence and in letting go.
“These are the natural cycles of life; while the blossoms fall and the colours fade, the roots grow deeper, stronger.
“Let love be the root that holds us, that guides us with hope through change, and endures.”
The series, which launched in spring to widespread public interest, celebrates the changing seasons across the UK and serves as a reminder and reflection of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
In May, the Princess of Wales once again turned to film, personally releasing a video revealing how she embraced “the healing power of nature” during her cancer treatment.
The series began with “Spring,” a three-minute film narrated by Catherine and featuring footage of her and Prince William on the Isle of Mull.
Another short film will be released later this year, with the Winter editions to follow in due course.
Drawing on how she found comfort and strength outdoors with her family during her cancer battle last year, she said: “Over the past year, nature has been my sanctuary.
“The natural world’s capacity to inspire us, to nurture us and help us heal and grow is boundless and has been understood for generations.
“It is through nature that we can truly appreciate the interconnectedness of all things — the need for balance, renewal and resilience. Connecting with the natural world allows us to gain a deeper understanding of ourselves, our surroundings and one another.”
She continued: “Spring is a season of rebirth, of hope and new beginnings. From the dark days of winter, the world around us slowly awakens, bringing a sense of optimism, anticipation and positive change.
“Just as nature revives and renews, so can we. Let us reconnect with the natural world and welcome a new dawn within our hearts.
“It is often from the smallest seeds that the greatest changes emerge, and in an increasingly complicated world, we must hold on to the things that unite us. Spring is here — let’s embrace it together.”
The Princess also emphasised how deeply she hopes her message can act as an antidote to today’s “increasingly complex and digital world.”
Signing off with “C” — her personal signature — Catherine wrote: “This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week, we are celebrating humanity’s long-standing bond with nature, and its ability to inspire and support our healing and growth in mind, body and spirit.
“As we face the pressures of a complex digital age, the connection between humanity and the natural world becomes even more important.
“The Mother Nature series is a reminder and reflection of the beauty and complexity of the human experience. It is a tribute to the lessons nature offers us, helping us nurture our own growth and strengthen our connections to the world around us — and to each other.”
Mother Nature is described as a celebration of the raw, untamed beauty of the UK’s changing seasons.
