Princess Charlotte once again attracted plenty of attention during Trooping the Colour on 13 June, with royal fans particularly noticing a touching jewellery connection between her and her mother, Catherine, Princess of Wales.
Alongside her baby-blue ensemble by Catherine Walker and matching hat by Philip Treacy, Catherine wore a famous three-strand pearl bracelet that once belonged to Diana, Princess of Wales. The Princess of Wales had also worn the bracelet at a Buckingham Palace garden party on 8 May and at the wedding of Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling on 6 June.
Observers noted that Charlotte appeared to be wearing a bracelet very similar in style to her mother’s, prompting speculation that it may have been a subtle tribute to both Catherine and her late grandmother, Diana. The resemblance reinforced Charlotte’s reputation among royal fans as her mother’s “mini-me.”
Diana’s bracelet was created by jeweller Nigel Milne and became one of the most recognisable pieces in her jewellery collection. She famously wore it on several notable occasions in 1989, including a charity event for Birthright, a performance of The Masked Ball at the London Coliseum, and the state banquet in Hong Kong where she wore her celebrated “Elvis” gown by Catherine Walker together with the iconic Queen Mary Lover’s Knot Tiara.
The possible jewellery link between mother and daughter was one of several details that delighted royal watchers during this year’s Trooping the Colour celebrations.

In addition to her elegant bracelet, Princess Charlotte wore a beautiful white dress featuring delicate blue detailing, which coordinated perfectly with the baby-blue tie worn by her older brother, Prince George, as they travelled together during Trooping the Colour.
Veteran royal photographer Chris Jackson told Page Six that Charlotte possesses “great poise,” a quality many royal observers have noticed during public appearances.
Royal commentator Sharon Carpenter similarly told Us Weekly that the young princess has developed into “a smart, confident, and funny girl who knows how to hold her own both in the spotlight and outside of it.”
A royal source quoted by the publication even joked: “She’s the boss of the family. Charlotte rules the roost.”
Meanwhile, royal historian Marlene Koenig noted that Catherine, Princess of Wales has previously described her daughter as independent and “the one in charge.” Koenig suggested that as Charlotte grows older, she could become an important asset to the monarchy.
Carpenter also highlighted Charlotte’s growing influence in fashion, saying: “She’s following closely in her mother’s footsteps when it comes to her princess style, and she’s now regarded as a major child fashion icon.”
According to Carpenter, Charlotte is already viewed as “a crucial member of the royal family and is expected to play a pivotal role in the monarchy.”
Palace insiders quoted by The Telegraph have described Charlotte as having a “strong character, almost wise beyond her years,” while royal commentator Phil Dampier has praised the young princess for her “poise and maturity.”
Royal commentator Phil Dampier also suggested that Princess Charlotte shares qualities with her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
Speaking to The Telegraph, he said: “Not only does she look like her great-grandmother, she also seems to have inherited her calmness.”
Dampier added that Charlotte appears remarkably comfortable carrying out royal duties from a young age, a view echoed by others who have watched her at public engagements.
A palace insider similarly told People magazine: “She’s a natural and has taken to royal events like a duck to water.”
The young princess has increasingly impressed royal watchers with her confidence and composure at major occasions such as Trooping the Colour, where she often appears poised and self-assured despite the intense public attention that comes with her role.
