Sarah Ferguson could reportedly be seeking financial support from the royal family, according to claims made by royal author Andrew Lownie.
The former Duchess of York, who has faced months of controversy and public scrutiny, is said to possibly be negotiating a royal pension in exchange for not participating in a revealing television interview.
Speaking to The Mirror ahead of the paperback release of his book Entitled—which includes a newly added chapter—Lownie suggested that ongoing discussions may be taking place behind the scenes.
He said: “That may be what Fergie’s negotiating at the moment. Can she get a nice pension from them and not have to do an Oprah interview.”
Rumours have been circulating for several months that Sarah Ferguson may be considering either a sit-down television interview or a revealing memoir.
The speculation has grown while the Duchess has largely remained out of the spotlight, reportedly spending time at a chalet in Austria away from public attention.
The renewed scrutiny surrounding Sarah comes amid controversy linked to the so-called Epstein Files, which reportedly indicated that she remained in contact with Jeffrey Epstein after his initial conviction for child sex offences.
However, appearing in the Epstein Files does not in itself imply any wrongdoing.

Alongside his claims about Sarah Ferguson allegedly seeking a royal pension, author Andrew Lownie has also claimed that a request from King Charles III and Prince William for Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie to submit a financial audit was reportedly refused.
No official explanation has been given publicly, and it remains unclear whether any reason was provided for the alleged refusal.
Despite the ongoing controversies surrounding their parents, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are still believed to be included in royal family events. Reports also suggest they are expected to attend the upcoming wedding of their cousin Peter Phillips next month.
Representatives for Sarah Ferguson have reportedly been approached for comment, while Buckingham Palace has also been contacted regarding the claims involving Beatrice and Eugenie.
