Happy Father’s Day to all the dads celebrating today, including royal fathers Prince William and Prince Harry, who will mark the occasion more than 5,000 miles apart with their respective families.
Interestingly, Father’s Day is celebrated on the same day in both the UK and the US. Mother’s Day, however, falls on different dates in the two countries. In the UK, it is observed on the fourth Sunday of Lent, three weeks before Easter, while in the United States it is celebrated on the second Sunday in May.
Prince William shares three children with Catherine, Princess of Wales: Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8. Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex are parents to Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.
While William’s children are slightly older, both families are likely to celebrate in familiar ways, perhaps with homemade cards, thoughtful gifts or a special breakfast prepared for their fathers.
This year, Father’s Day is particularly special for William, as it also falls on his birthday, meaning the Prince of Wales is likely to enjoy a double celebration with his family.

Home cоmforts
Both Prince William and Prince Harry are known to celebrate birthdays and other family milestones privately at their respective homes, allowing them to enjoy special occasions away from the public eye.
Recent celebrations, including Princess Lilibet’s birthday and Valentine’s Day, appeared to take place at the Sussexes’ home in Montecito. Meanwhile, the Wales family have frequently released professional birthday portraits of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, many of which have been taken at their private residences and estates.
Maintaining a degree of privacy for family celebrations has long been an important priority for both brothers as they raise their children largely away from the spotlight.

The great оutdoors
Another possibility for both families would be spending time outdoors. Prince William, Catherine, Princess of Wales and their three children have often spoken about their love of nature and outdoor activities, regularly enjoying time together in the countryside.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex have easy access to hiking trails and beaches near their home in Montecito, offering plenty of opportunities for family adventures with their energetic children. Should Harry opt for an active Father’s Day, the great outdoors would provide the perfect setting.

Celebrating thеir own fathers
One clear difference between the brothers’ Father’s Day celebrations is the possibility of spending time with their own father. While Prince William could easily celebrate with King Charles III if their schedules allow, it would be far more difficult for Prince Harry, who lives in the United States, unless the occasion is marked through a video call.

Harry cоming to the UK
It has been reported that Prince Harry, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, could travel to the UK in connection with Harry’s appearance at the upcoming Invictus Games Birmingham 2027.
If King Charles III were to spend time with his grandchildren during the visit, it would reportedly mark only the second publicly known meeting between the King and Princess Lilibet since her birth in 2021. However, any plans for family meetings remain speculative, and no official arrangements have been confirmed.
