She has remained loyal to her disgraced ex-husband, but it now appears that Sarah Ferguson is turning her attention toward finding a new partner in hopes of distancing herself from any association with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
According to insiders, Fergie is looking for a wealthy benefactor who can match her expensive taste — though her daughter Beatrice is reportedly concerned about how this might affect her already scandal-plagued father.
‘Sarah’s told her daughter and her inner circle that she’s been devastated by recent events but she’s never going to give up on love. She’s been open about finding a proper gentleman to help her enjoy life – someone successful, kind and financially secure,’ a source told Closer.
‘She’s always been independent, but she knows she’s got expensive taste, and she jokes she needs a man who can keep up. Beatrice wants her mum to move on but also fears how Andrew would take it. She knows her dad would be crushed if Sarah met someone new and fears the thought of being alone will break his heart. But at the same time, she just wants her parents to find their own peace. They’ve been separated for decades and clinging to the past isn’t healthy.’
Following a series of controversies, Andrew, 65, and Sarah, 66, lost their royal titles last month — a public humiliation tied to their involvement with the late paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein. In recent months, Sarah has also been dropped by seven charities.
It’s no surprise that the mother of two — who has previously admitted she is terrible with money and has even faced bankruptcy — is now thinking seriously about her future as she continues to live through this ongoing nightmare.

‘Sarah is seeking considerable funding to remain quiet. She’s made it clear she needs to support her lifestyle somehow,’ the source said.
‘If the Palace doesn’t step in, she’s prepared to turn to speaking events, television opportunities, and even a tell-all book. She feels she has no choice. The past few years have been brutal — health scares, public scrutiny, and a shifting royal landscape. All she wants is security for herself and her daughters. The Palace wants everything resolved quietly, but Fergie and Andrew are resisting.’
Adding to their troubles, the former couple have now been forced to leave Royal Lodge — the home they have shared since 2004 — in the aftermath of the scandal.
Andrew is expected to vacate the property in the New Year and relocate to a residence on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, while Sarah has been told to make her own arrangements.
She wants to concentrate on creating distance from Andrew and securing a home of her own, an insider says. According to the source, ‘Andrew wants to keep some sense of normality around Christmas. He feels Sandringham is safe ground — it’s familiar, and it keeps him close to the family, at least symbolically. But Sarah’s thinking ahead. She’s always had one foot in and one foot out of the royal fold. She’s now viewing properties and wants somewhere she can truly call her own, away from the royal spotlight but still close enough to Beatrice and Eugenie.’
As if the family didn’t already have enough to deal with, Beatrice sparked fresh controversy last week when it was revealed she had hosted an afternoon tea at Riyadh’s Ritz-Carlton hotel in Saudi Arabia on 27 October.
The event drew criticism because it took place at the site of Saudi Arabia’s 2017 crackdown, where royals and business leaders were detained and allegedly mistreated. Now a source says the Palace was ‘blindsided’ by the misstep — including the Prince and Princess of Wales.
The insider explained, ‘It was seen as tone-deaf, especially given the venue’s reputation and the recent controversies surrounding Andrew and Sarah. William and Kate were genuinely upset when the pictures emerged. They have been very supportive of Beatrice and Eugenie and now hope they will follow the Palace line.’
‘The Palace has made it crystal clear — every appearance must now be approved and vetted by senior aides before anyone signs off on it. There is a push inside the Palace to impose an “office-style” approval system on Beatrice and Eugenie’s future engagements to prevent any repeat of such headlines. They cannot risk another scandal tied to the York name.’
