The Prince and Princess of Wales were showered with gifts from well-wishers as they joined the rest of the royal family for the traditional Christmas Day walkabout at Sandringham — but one present clearly stood out for Prince Louis.
The youngest of William and Kate’s children, aged seven, was handed a giant teddy bear by a well-wisher waiting outside St Mary Magdalene Church, where the family had gathered for the festive morning service. Beaming as he accepted the oversized gift, Louis appeared to struggle to carry it, already juggling soft toys and boxes of chocolates in his arms.
Smiling as he watched his son wrestle with the pile of presents, William joked: “It’s almost the same size as you, Louis!”
The 44-year-old then added with a laugh: “You’ll have to carry it back.”
Meanwhile, Louis’s sister, Princess Charlotte, 10, graciously accepted a book from a well-wisher, saying: “Thank you so much — that’s very kind of you.”

Prince Louis amuses well-wishers
The oversized teddy bear wasn’t the only thing that caused a stir, as playful Prince Louis was also delighted to receive an enormous Lindt-wrapped chocolate. HELLO!’s US Royal News Correspondent, Alexandra Hurtado, was there to witness the moment and said it quickly became one of the highlights of the day.
She explained: “A giant Lindt chocolate ball was handed to Prince William for his youngest son, and Prince Louis looked absolutely thrilled. He grabbed it straight from his dad’s hands and hugged it tightly.” She added with a laugh: “Cheeky Louis! It was definitely one of the standout moments of the morning.”
It isn’t the first time Prince Louis has revealed his love of sweet treats. During last year’s Christmas walkabout, Prince William pointed at his youngest son and said “chocolate,” before gesturing toward Charlotte and adding “flowers,” neatly summing up their gift preferences with a smile: “Very good!”
Princess Charlotte is a ‘star’ during walkabout
Princess Charlotte, who joined her eldest brother Prince George, 12, for the walkabout, charmed royal fans as she interacted with the crowd and happily posed for selfies.
Sources told HELLO! that Charlotte smiled and stopped for photos with well-wishers who had gathered to celebrate Christmas Day alongside the royal family. “She is such a little star,” they said.
The Sandringham walkabout has been a cherished royal tradition since 1988. This year, the Wales family were joined not only by King Charles and Queen Camilla, but also by the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Anne, and Zara and Mike Tindall.
