Meghan Markle with Archie and Lilibet amid reports of a UK visit and possible reunion with King Charles

Meghan Markle Returns to the UK With Archie and Lilibet Amid Reunion Claims

King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort privately welcomed Prince Harry, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex to Highgrove House this afternoon, according to Buckingham Palace sources.

As the gathering was a private family occasion, no photographs from the reunion are expected to be released.

Meghan is believed to have arrived in Britain earlier in the day with Archie and Lilibet, while Harry was attending an event marking the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, who were attending the annual charity polo match in Windsor, were not present for the family reunion.

The private reunion marked the first time King Charles III had seen his youngest grandchildren, Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex, in person since the Sussex family’s visit to the UK for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022. The meeting brought an end to a gap of more than four years between the King and the two children.

Meghan, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, had originally been expected to join Prince Harry at the Birmingham event on Friday, but did not travel to the UK with him earlier in the week due to ongoing security concerns.

However, reports on Thursday evening suggested that the Duchess would instead travel privately to Britain with their children, Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex, after the family had been holidaying in Europe.

After leaving the Birmingham event around lunchtime, Harry is understood to have travelled approximately 90 miles to Highgrove House, where Meghan and the children later joined him for the private family reunion.

There was a clear gap in both royal diaries, with neither Prince Harry nor King Charles III having any official engagements after 3:30pm, following the King’s two visits to University of Oxford.

It has not been disclosed how long the Sussex family remained at Highgrove House, but the private reunion came after a difficult week for Harry, who lost a £50 million privacy lawsuit against the publishers of the Daily Mail.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to spend the weekend at Althorp House with the Spencer family, where they are also expected to visit the grave of Harry’s mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.
