Fresh Start for Prince Harry After Claimed Reunion With the King

Prince Harry has announced an exciting new milestone for the Invictus Games, revealing that the international sporting event will be held in Asia for the very first time.

The 41-year-old Duke of Sussex said he was “delighted” to confirm that Daejeon, South Korea, will host the 2029 Invictus Games, which support wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans.

Sharing the news in his role as founding patron of the Invictus Games Foundation, Harry said: “Today’s announcement is a defining moment for the Invictus Movement.

“We are delighted to announce Daejeon, South Korea as the host of the 2029 Invictus Games and, on behalf of the Invictus Games Foundation, we are so excited to work together.”

Daejeon earned the right to host the 2029 Invictus Games after a competitive international bidding process. The city, South Korea’s fifth largest, is home to around 1.5 million people.

The Games are scheduled to run from 6 to 15 October 2029 and will feature 12 sporting events. Around 550 competitors from 26 nations are expected to take part, supported by approximately 1,100 family members and friends.

What аre the Prince Harry’s Invictus Gаmes?

Prince Harry launched the Invictus Games in London in 2014, creating an international sporting event dedicated to supporting wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans.

According to the Invictus Games Foundation, the competition is designed to challenge perceptions of disability, promote adaptive sport, and highlight the resilience, determination and unconquerable spirit of those who have served.

The next Invictus Games will be held in Birmingham in 2027, with Prince Harry visiting the UK earlier this month to take part in the one-year countdown events ahead of the competition.

During the trip, Harry reunited with his father, King Charles, in what marked the first meeting between the King and his grandchildren, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, since 2022.

The development is also said to have renewed Prince Harry’s determination to continue his campaign to have his taxpayer-funded security reinstated.

A source told HELLO!: “He will pursue it until RAVEC agree to enact the terms of reference that were made clear in front of a judge in the judicial review. It’s about the Home Office doing what they committed to in court.”

The source added that this would include the formation of a Risk Management Board to assess any threats against Harry. HELLO! understands that he has not undergone such an assessment for the past seven years.
