William and Kate Mark 15th Anniversary With New Family Photo

To mark 15 years of marriage, Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales have shared a beautiful new holiday photo featuring their family.

Married on this day in a fairytale wedding at Westminster Abbey in 2011, the couple marked their anniversary with a fresh snapshot showing them enjoying sunshine-filled family time with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The never-before-seen image, captured by trusted photographer Matt Porteous during their Easter break in Cornwall, shows the family barefoot in the grass alongside their pet dogs in a relaxed and intimate moment.

The photo was shared with the caption: “Celebrating 15 years of marriage” ❤️

In the sweet family portrait, Prince Louis is seen resting his legs across Catherine, Princess of Wales as the family of five lie side by side in the grass, dressed casually in summer clothes, with everyone in shorts except Kate. Beside Prince William, their beloved black cocker spaniel Orla also makes a charming appearance.

Also featured is the Waleses’ second dog—a brown spaniel they kept from one of Orla’s litters last year, whose name has still not been publicly revealed. Royal fans may remember Prince William being photographed with the puppies in a birthday portrait last year, including a sweet moment gazing at one of the brown pups—now believed to be the family’s newest canine companion.

The couple are celebrating their crystal anniversary today as King Charles III continues his state visit to the United States. For Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, the milestone is also a reminder of a love story that began more than two decades ago at University of St Andrews, where friendship first turned into romance.

Following their Westminster Abbey wedding, the couple famously shared a balcony kiss at Buckingham Palace to the delight of cheering crowds. Kate wore a stunning ivory gown by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, featuring intricate lace floral appliqué, while William wore the striking red tunic of the Irish Guards.

Two years later they welcomed Prince George, followed by Princess Charlotte in 2015 and Prince Louis in 2018.

A great deal has changed since they said I do 15 years ago. Alongside raising their three children, their royal responsibilities shifted dramatically when they became the Prince and Princess of Wales after the death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022.

Over the years, Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales have also had to navigate major personal challenges—from William’s painful rift with Prince Harry to what William once described as a “brutal” 2024, following Kate’s cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy treatment.

After revealing last year that she was in remission, the couple appeared to embrace a fresh chapter by moving to their new home, the eight-bedroom Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park.

Now, with Catherine, Princess of Wales in remission and the couple seemingly focused on the future, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond believes their bond looks stronger than ever.

“As they celebrate 15 years of marriage – and some 25 years together — their relationship is looking more solid and loving than ever.”

“Slowly, tentatively, I think William and Catherine are beginning to look to the future with confidence. As each year passes, and the trauma of the cancer diagnosis and treatment begins to fade, they must be feeling more reassured. Not that they will ever get over it — or the fear of it — and I’m sure it has changed them forever. As Catherine herself has said, cancer changes your perspective on everything in life.”

“Perhaps the biggest change has been the proof that their love has simply become deeper as they battle the huge problems that have come their way: her cancer, the King’s simultaneous diagnosis, the bitter rift with Harry and Meghan and the intense pressure of the scandal surrounding Uncle Andrew.”

“The worse the problems, the more we have seen William and Catherine standing shoulder to shoulder, often holding hands or giving one another a reassuring pat, facing the public and getting on with their work.”

For Jennie Bond, that sense of partnership is at the heart of why the marriage of Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales has endured so strongly.

She added: “I always remember William’s mother, Princess Diana, telling me that she and Charles ‘would have made such a great team’. Well, I think her son and his wife are doing just that.”

“Neither tries to overshadow the other, they are relaxed and informal on public duties and always seem to find something to laugh about together.”

“They give the impression of being the very best of friends; and, of course, friendship – dating back to those early years at university – is the foundation on which their marriage is built.”
